Banks might have business hours which may make it difficult for you to make a deposit during those hours if you are at work or school. On-time deposits are important to ensure that checks or drafts do not overdraft your account and result in the bank charging you excessive insufficient-funds fees. Fortunately, most banks make it possible to make deposits from home using your computer or phone.

Call your bank. While most bank branches do close within normal business hours, most have a 24-hour customer service line. Your bank representative can make a transfer from another account into your bank account. You will have to have another account in order to make a deposit this way. You will have to provide the bank representative with the routing number, account number, and amount of the deposit you want to transfer to your bank account.

Visit the bank website online. Most banks today offer the convenience of banking online. You will need to visit the website and register for an account, if you have not done so. You may need your bank account number to register. You should see a transfer fund link; you will need to access it and set up another banking account you have as a transfer source. Once you have completed that, you should be able to transfer funds between your bank accounts.

Call your toll-free bank phone number to get your account information. Most banks offer you the ability to access your account information over the phone. The toll-free number can usually be located on the back of your debit card. You can call this number and input your account number or customer access number to access your bank account information. You should be provided with some options as to what you want to do, such as transfer funds. If you have multiple accounts with the bank, your customer access number can be used to transfer funds between your accounts with the bank. This will allow you to make a deposit in your account at any time.
