If you are in San Diego, California and have a pair of eyeglasses that you no longer need or that are no longer the proper prescription for you, the glasses do not have to be tossed in the trash. In fact, you can take those eyeglasses and donate them to a charitable organization in the San Diego area. Eyeglasses for both adult and children are accepted for donation. Your donation can provide better eyesight for someone who cannot afford eyeglasses.

Clean your eyeglasses and look them over to make sure that they are in good condition. Usually you can only donate eyeglasses that are in good condition. If the frames are fine but the lenses are scratched, you can still donate the glasses.

Use the locator on the Lions Club website to find your local donation center in San Diego. Other places where you can donate eyeglasses in San Diego include LensCrafters and Pearle Vision locations.

Put your eyeglasses in the case, if you have a case to donate, and take it to the San Diego donation center that you have selected. If you can't drop off your eyeglasses at one of the area donation centers in San Diego, you can mail the eyeglasses to the Lions Club International Headquarters, Attention: Receiving Department, 300 W. 22nd Street, Oak Brook, IL 60523.
