How to Get the Dates of Future Earning Reports

by Tim Plaehn ; Updated April 19, 2017

The quarterly earnings reports are the primary, and sometimes only, time a corporation puts out real numbers concerning revenues, expenses and profits. All of the news in the three-month period between reports is mostly noise. An earnings release tells investors what really happened over the last three months for a company. Earnings report releases can produce significant changes in stock prices as investors and market analysts compare the actual results for a company to the estimates for earnings and sales and react to positive or negative news.

Step 1

Make a list of the stocks for which you want a list of earnings release dates. Each stock will have four dates per year, so a spreadsheet file would be a good choice to track the stocks and record the earnings release dates.

Step 2

Find the investor relations webpage of each company. On the investor relations page will be a link or choice for news releases or financial releases. Review the list of press releases and note the date of the four previous quarterly earnings reports. Repeat the process for each of the stocks on your list, completing your database of earnings release dates.

Step 3

Sign up for email notification of news or press releases on the investor relations page of each company. An email subscription will send the notification of pending financial and earnings release announcements directly to your email account.

  • The actual date of each quarterly earnings release may vary by a few days from year to year. Companies will send an email announcement a few days to a few weeks before the next financial results release. Use a computerized calendar to track earnings releases and provide a visual reference for upcoming dates.
