Georgia Compass is a service offered by the Georgia Department of Human Services to simplify the process of applying for state run programs, such as food stamps, Medicaid, WIC, food assistance and TANF. The purpose of Georgia Compass is to streamline the eligibility process. To apply for any program offered by the Georgia Department of Human Services, you must create an account online at the Georgia Compass official website.

Navigate your Web browser to the Georgia Compass homepage. (See References.)

Select the “MyCOMPASS Account” icon, which is located in the middle of the page next to “Application Status Check” and “Partners/Providers.”

Click the “Create Account” icon located on the left side of the screen.

Fill in your social security number, date of birth as well as your Client ID or your Child Case number. If you do not know your Client ID or your Child Case Number or if you do not have one, contact Georgia Compass at 800-869-1150. These identification numbers can also be found on letters sent to you by your case manager.

Press “Continue” to move onto the next step. To complete your registration, you must fill in your contact information as well as information regarding your case with the Georgia Department of Human Services. Once you have entered in your personal information, press “Complete” and you will have a Georgia Compass account, which will allow you to check the status of your case, view current benefits and apply for all available assistance programs.

Contact Georgia Compass prior to creating a Georgia Compass account to open a case.

Warnings

Do not attempt to create an account if you do not have a Client ID or a Child Case Number. You will not be able to complete registration without either one of these two identification numbers.
