How to Apply for a Horizon Gold Card

by Heather Topham Wood ; Updated July 27, 2017

A Horizon Gold Card is a line of credit often used by individuals who have no credit history or bad credit. It is not issued through a financial institution and individuals can only use the card at the Horizon Gold Store. In order to help improve the person’s credit, the company reports credit status to the major credit bureaus on a monthly basis. You can apply online for a Horizon Gold Card.

Step 1

Log on the Horizon Gold Card website. To start the application process, you will need to provide the company with your email address as well as your zip code. Enter this information in the “Start Here” box.

Step 2

Supply your contact information on the application form. This includes your name, address, email address and phone number. You can also sign up for optional credit counseling services after supplying this information.

Step 3

Provide your credit card or debit card information. In order to receive a Horizon Gold Card, you need to prove that you have an established credit or debit card in your name. As part of your membership agreement, you have to agree to allow Horizon Gold to charge this account in the event that you do not make payments on your Horizon Gold Card. This is to allow the company to provide you with an unsecured credit line.

Step 4

Get instantly approved. The Horizon Gold Card does not run a credit check and will instantly approve applicants for a $500 credit limit to be used in their online store. You will be sent an email with your card information included. You will also receive a physical copy of the card in the mail within two weeks of submitting your online application.

Tips

  • Although the Horizon Gold Card advertises a 0% APR, you may be subject to a monthly card maintenance fee.
