How to Get Social Security Income History

The Social Security Administration tracks your earnings and annually sends you a statement that projects your future retirement income. You can request this statement at any time if you follow a few simple steps.

Online and Mail Procedure

Type into your Internet browser's location bar and press the return key.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the button labeled "Request a Social Security Statement."

Type the answers to the questions on the form presented to you. At the bottom of the page, click the button labeled "Continue."

Click the button at the bottom of the screen labeled "Done," unless you have another statement to request. In that case, click the button labeled "Request Another Statement."

Click the link labeled "SSA-7004 in PDF" on the web page noted in Step 1 if you prefer to manually fill out and mail the form.

  • If you prefer to request this information in person, Form SSA-7004 can be completed at any local Social Security Administration office.
