How to Get Social Security Income History

  • Form SSA-7004

The Social Security Administration tracks your earnings and annually sends you a statement that projects your future retirement income. You can request this statement at any time if you follow a few simple steps.

Online and Mail Procedure

Step 1

Type into your Internet browser's location bar and press the return key.

Step 2

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the button labeled "Request a Social Security Statement."

Step 3

Type the answers to the questions on the form presented to you. At the bottom of the page, click the button labeled "Continue."

Step 4

Click the button at the bottom of the screen labeled "Done," unless you have another statement to request. In that case, click the button labeled "Request Another Statement."

Step 5

Click the link labeled "SSA-7004 in PDF" on the web page noted in Step 1 if you prefer to manually fill out and mail the form.


  • If you prefer to request this information in person, Form SSA-7004 can be completed at any local Social Security Administration office.
