The Target Corporation offers a number of scholarship and grant opportunities to students who meet their criteria. In addition to the Target Stores All-Around Scholarship Program, Target has partnered with other organizations to create additional financial rewards. Students can access these scholarships online at no cost, view the eligibility requirements and submit their application.

Significance

The Target All-Around Scholarships are available to high school seniors and undergraduate college students who are under the age of 24. The intent of the scholarship is to honor potential leaders who have already begun to make a difference in the present day. The primary criterion that these scholarships are based on is the involvement and service of the individual within their community. Additionally, the applicants must exhibit excellent academic ability.
Every year, the Target Corporation awards over 2,100 All-Around Scholarships, which can be administered on the national level or from a specific Target store. Four of the scholarships are in the amount of $10,000. The deadline for the Target Stores (CSFA) All-Around Scholarship Program application is November 1.

Function

Target also administers various grants to organizations that are located in the neighborhoods where they have stores. This is done through their Community Education Beyond Scholarships program. There are designated grants for the arts, early childhood reading, family violence prevention, field trips and social services.

Types

The CFDA/Teen Vogue Scholarship caters towards high school seniors who exhibit outstanding talent in fashion design and are looking to pursue a pursue a bachelor's degree in that field. One student is awarded the top honor of being named the Target Fashion Scholar of the year and receives a $25,000 scholarship toward college. The recipient of the above is also given a sewing machine and books on fashion design. In addition, five other students receive a scholarship in the amount of $5,000.

Features

Target also offers scholarship opportunities in affiliation with the United Negro College Fund. The Target/UNCF Community Leaders Scholarship Program awards $5,000 to eight UNCF college juniors that are in need of financial assistance. In order to qualify, students must demonstrate their commitment to improve their community, be enrolled at a UNCF member university and have maintained a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0. The chosen students are called as "Target Community Leaders."

Considerations

The Target Corporation also donates money to the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF). The money donated created 50 additional HSF scholarships. These awards range from $1,000 to $5,000 and are available to students who meet the following eligibility requirements: be of Hispanic heritage, a legal citizen or permanent resident of the United States, maintain a 3.0 GPA and be enrolled at an accredited college. The scholarship is primarily given to undergraduate and graduate students who are majoring in a business-related field.
