How to Find Your Medical Records Online

by Contributor ; Updated October 25, 2017

Find medical records online using free database searches across the United States. Medical records can be found online using specific search terms and basic information. Check the availability of your personal medical records out and see for yourself!

Step 1

In order to find your medical records online, you will need some basic information: Name, Birth Date, Social Security (SSN), Address, and possibly your Drivers License Number. This should be no problem, as you won't need to supply hard forms of these.

Step 2

Next, you will need to find a Medical Record Search that supplies database information from hospitals and doctor offices. This information is only shared in a database if you agree to it being open to the public.

Step 3

If you are planning on using more than one Medical Record Search, you will need to supply each with the same information. This is important, as mixed information can cause errors and you will not have any results return!

Step 4

Finally, choose the correct Medical Record Lender to continue your search with. You will notice that many of these lenders are available only with a small fee attached, but some are still free. If you find a free one, you may be viewing partial records.

  • Don't forget to clear out any personal information that you enter into Medical History Record Search boxes, as this could be a serious risk to your privacy!
